Hi, excuse the delay on these details - we're still trying to get the info from the UCAP guys.
However, I can't imagine it will be much different from Sevastopol, where people were arriving from late afternoon Friday onwards.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
will the gate be closed and locked later on?
It will probably be pretty late on Friday that me and Dean arrive.
Yes, it will Craig, but we will put a contact number on it.

Right, looks like 3 of us coming by public transport, train to Greenhithe then cab to site. if current plans come to pass we should be there Friday night about 8:30 ish.
Any problems with the site owners regards a disposable BBQ for Friday night cooking? (other than the usual "NOT INSIDE" rule). Please say now so I can make alternative plans.
Will also be bringing a small meths stove for the morning cuppas/instant porridge.
Oh and when is the planned Game end on Saturday (I am assuming 5 or 6-ish)
To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"
Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
Resistance is fertile

Disposable BBQ and stove are both absolutely fine mate, outside obviously.
We expect endex to be about 6ish.
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942
Thanks for that.
That means Fridays dinner will be easily sorted, filling and not pot noodles.

It looks like its going to be perfect bbq weather on Friday! As alot of us are going by train and maynot want to carry that sort of stuff, just let me know if you want me to pick any meat/veg/ or bbqs up in Dartford as I'm going to have time to kill, just a thought
Well done you are now the unofficial NAAFI
Well we better make it offical then
Some of the UCAP guys will be onsite doing stuff on Friday, and it should be ok for people to turn up from 1pm onwards. If the gate is locked, there should be a number posted on it.

Mmm...BBQ... sounds like a plan!
BTW, I didn't see inside the buildings last time I came... Is it all nice and clean and tidy inside? I'm planning to dress smartly for the evenings...

Yes is all pretty clean and tidy in the main accomodation block. You wouldn't want to eat you dinner off the floor or anything but it's ok.
There will be free tea and coffee available thought and an large hot water urn. There is limited power also for battery charging etc.

Good stuff... my British Officer Service Dress will have a run out then. Most of it is original WWII (or earlier).
Excellent. It will be FJ smart shirt & tie for me.

Me too.
One thing that occurs to me is regarding use of braces. When wearing the Blue shirt and tie, with shoulder boards, did FJ still use braces. I've seen photos of lufty wearing belts (sometimes the leather belt not threaded through the belt loops) with their blue trousers and shirts, but never FJ with their jump trousers. Just a thought as it seems to look scruffy wearing a shirt and tie and shoulder boards with braces over the top?
RETIRED, thanks for some truly memorable times and great people
Good question, Ade - I don't know the answer, unfortunately. I will be wearing Fliegerbluse over the shirt & tie.

All depends on the weather. I'll do likewise if it is cold, but for warmer weather we are allowed to wear only the shirt and can be permitted to even discard the tie if it is really warm....so I will make sure I bring the fliegerbluse then
See you Friday

Looking to be about 12 degrees with light showers in the afternoon. I think its denims for me.
I'm a hero with coward's legs.

Good, I can leave the brew kit at home, one less thing to pack/worry about. Cuppa coffee and instant porridge for breakfast will be key to me lasting the day.

Right, I'm heading for the site now. For the very early people, if there's no AGS sign up, then you've arrived before me, so you'll have to wait until I arrive to get in.
